Journalism That Earns Your Trust
The Metro was founded on a single conviction: that accurate, fearless, and fair reporting is the cornerstone of an informed democracy. We cover the stories that matter — locally, nationally, and globally — without fear or favor.
Our Mission
The Metro exists to serve the public interest through rigorous, independent journalism. We hold power accountable, amplify underrepresented voices, and deliver the context readers need to understand a complex world.
Founded in 2019 by a group of veteran journalists, The Metro grew from a digital newsletter to a full-scale editorial operation covering eight beats across national and international news. We operate independently of corporate and political interests, funded by reader subscriptions and a commitment to sustainable journalism.
Our editorial standards are rooted in the Society of Professional Journalists' Code of Ethics. Every story published by The Metro is fact-checked, edited, and reviewed for fairness before publication. Corrections are made promptly and transparently when errors occur.
